XYZ

Site-specific Installation

EN

Using a corner of the exhibit as support, the XYZ in situ installation highlights two spaces by through video mapping: that of real architecture and that, virtual, developed by the artist, that can be seen from the point of anamorphosis. The graphic content of the mapping consists in an animation of ten patterns, composed of horizontal and vertical white and black lines.

In turn, the animation brings together two modes of space presentation:

- the first reveals the physical properties of the sculpture (3 adjacent shots)

- the second draws in space a virtual rectangle by through the anamorphic technique.

XYZ refers to the coordinates imagined by Descartes in the 17th century to describe physical space in three dimensions, symbolized by the letters x, y, z. Today, these same coordinates are used in the field of 3D artistic practice.
