Olivier Ratsi : "L’immersion ne se résume pas à un espace où l’œuvre englobe le spectateur"
“L’espace architectural a toujours été une immense source d’inspiration dans mon travail. C’est sans doute l’une des raisons pour lesquelles ma démarche s’est orientée autour de l’espace, ce qui explique aussi pourquoi mes œuvres se sont retrouvées estampillées « immersives ». L’œuvre peut ainsi être créée à travers un travail d’investigation, en fonction de l’architecture d’un espace (...) ou de son histoire. Dans ce cas, je considère l’œuvre comme le prolongement de l’espace existant, visant à le sublimer.”
EN: “My work is always inspired by architectural space. This is undoubtedly one of the reasons why my approach has focused on space, which also explains why my works have been labelled ‘immersive’. The work can thus be created through a process of investigation, based on the architecture of a space (...) or its history. In this case, I consider the work to be an extension of the existing space, aiming to enhance it.”
